New Diet
For the past few weeks I have been considering starting a new diet that will be supervised by my chiropractor. It is called ChiroHCG, I started it on Wednesday and so far I feel great. And the reason being I feel great is because on Wednesday and Thursday I got too eat whatever I wanted in an attempt to consume 5000 calories (this helps to rev up your metabolism). And starting today I am now only eating 500 calories a day and taking HCG drops 3 times a day. I have no idea if this will work for me, but I have seen several other people have great results. The idea behind it is that the HCG helps your body to burn fat (keeping you from going into starvation mode) and it also helps to keep your blood sugar stable and suppresses your appetite. So I don't exactly have a weight update for you, since eating 5000 calories for 2 days I gained about 5lbs. I will be updating next Friday with my 1 week results of being on this diet. The plan is designed for 6 weeks, but I will only be doing 5 weeks since we have a vacation planned for the first week in December. Also after the 5 weeks I will try to go into a maintenance mode and then possibly try the diet again after a month or so. Until next week!

Weigh in Week 2
I will just start with it has been a bad week, I gained 1 lb, but on the bright side I lost 1 inch in total this week. I only exercised one day and ate terribly. The kids had the stomach flu for four days, so this week is being chalked up to life happening and me having zero control over it. Not that I am really in control of things anyways, God is, but it is really hard to make for yourself when you have sick kids. I started "Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred", this will actually be my third time doing it in the last year. I am hoping to eat better this time around so I can really get results. I love this workout, it is only 20 minutes a day and it claims to "take the place of hours in the gym", I will say that I think by following a strict diet and this program you could really see wonderful results. I however don't do so well with the strict diet, so I am going to go with trying to eat a good, healthy eating plan. Until next week, when I hope to have better news on my progress.

Weigh in Week 1
I have some good news and some bad news on today's weigh in, I weigh exactly same as I did last week, however I ate quite poorly this week as a whole so not gaining weight was a great accomplishment for me. This tells me how important my exercise routine is for me, I have been working out 30-40 minutes each day, utilizing workout videos created by "The Biggest Loser" franchise. As I said in a previous post, I love "The Biggest Loser" workout videos, they provide beginner moves and I know that I can use these and get a good workout. Also along with no weight gain this week, I lost 1.5 inches. I lost .5 off of my hips, waist and "love handles", this just happens to be one of the thickest parts of my torso, and I want to keep track of it whittling away. Ha! Hope you have a good week, I am going to try to focus more on what goes in my body this week, and continue to workout at least 5 times a week. Good Luck to You!

10-11-10
Started the day off with a "Special K protein shake" and a 40 minute workout. Had some leftover grilled chicken from KFC for lunch with a salad. For a snack I had a fruit smoothie and finished the day out with a baked potato topped with "Brummel and Brown buttery spread". I love this butter spread, it is only 45 cals per tablespoon and it tastes great. I also had an enormous ribeye steak that I shared part of with B. Dinner was sooo good. I would have to say that it was a good day on food choices, I am really proud of myself for going to town with my hubby and kids, hubby wanted to go to the cookie shop and get a cookie, I let him and the kids eat cookies and I didn't even sneak a bite of anyones cookie. That is a huge step for me, I am usually stealing bites of yummy treats from my kids when I am trying to watch what I eat. Even though my steak was a little large tonight, I did good with so many other choices today that I will forgive myself for indulging in my dinner.

10-10-10
All I have to say is, chalk today up as a cheat day. My food choices were so bad I don't even want to post them. Started the day off with a glazed donut brought home by my wonderful hubby, I need to remind him to only bring one home for the kids to split. Ended my day with chicken from KFC. I did eat an apple and a cheese stick for lunch, but that were about the only healthy things I ate. I also shared cookies with the kids at the mall and ate another donut at church this morning, I don't even want to try to guess how many calories I ate today, so I won't. I will just get up in the morning and begin again! Take one day at a time, that's all I can do.

My Day
Started the morning off at 6am with a 40 minute workout, "The Biggest Loser Cardio Max". I love "The Biggest Loser" workouts because I know that I can do them and I will get a good workout. Spent the morning hanging out with the kids, had "Special K" protein shake for breakfast and a grilled chicken breast and a salad for lunch. The day started off on a positive note but took a huge downward spiral at snack time.
You see, some friends and I took our kids to the pumpkin patch today, great time, but horrible food choices for someone trying to eat healthfully. The snack menu consisted of funnel cakes, fried oreos, soft pretzels, ice cream, cotton candy, etc. It was quite hard to pick something healthy. Yes, I could have passed up the whole snack thing, but my daughter B was begging for a snack and I decided we would share a funnel cake and a soft pretzel between the two of us and my son J. Well, B ate a little bit of the funnel cake and licked salt off of her piece of pretzel. J mostly just put stuff in his mouth and spit it out, so being the good mother I am, I ate the remainder of the snack. My only saving grace was one of my friends' daughters asking her mom for a funnel cake and I let her have about a third of the one we were eating.
We rounded out the day with dinner at a place called Fazoli's (Italian faster food, I say this because it was faster than a sit down restaurant, but much slower than true fast food). Well, it was tough enough to try to decide what to feed my kids that I just broke down and ate a pasta bake with chicken and white alfredo sauce, smothered in cheese. Neither smothered or creamy alfredo sauce scream healthy, but I guess you win some, you lose some. On the upside I spent close to 4 hours running around after kids at the pumpkin patch, so my day may have not turned out so unhealthy after all.

Welcome to My New Blog
My name is Tara, I am a 27 year old married, stay at home mother of 2. I have gained and lost weight so many times in my short life that I am now ready to find my healthy weight and stay there. I hope to find some good friends and support along the way. I will weigh myself each Friday and post my weight gain or loss for the week on here. I will also be sharing tips that seem to be working for me. I may even begin posting my food journal on here to keep me honest with myself about what I am eating.
This past week I began writing my daily food journal on a white board on my fridge, talk about a reminder everytime you go to the fridge or even walk into the kitchen searching for something to calm the craving. I also purchased a water bottle that holds 8 glasses of water, a lot easier for me to get my eight glasses than trying to remember all day how many I drank. I just simply fill it up the night before and put it in the fridge, I have cold water to drink all day long and when the water is gone I know that I have drank plenty for the day.
I hope you will join me on my journey to a healthier me!
